Every pumpkin spice margarita on the internet starts with a homemade syrup — which is a cup of brown sugar wearing a fall costume. This one skips the syrup. A Classic Margarita Stix brings the lime and salt, real pumpkin puree brings the body, and pumpkin pie spice brings the fall. 0g sugar from the mixer.
Ingredients
- 1 Classic Margarita Cocktail Stix
- 2 oz blanco or reposado tequila (skip for a mocktail)
- 2 tbsp pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice, plus a pinch for garnish
- 5–8 oz sparkling water (or cold water)
- Ice
- Optional rim: cinnamon + flaky salt
Instructions
- Rim the glass with cinnamon and salt, if you like.
- Shake the Stix, tequila, pumpkin puree, pie spice, and a splash of the water hard with ice — the puree needs a real shake.
- Strain over fresh ice and top with sparkling water (5–8 oz total).
- Mocktail version: same build, no tequila.
- Garnish with a pinch of pie spice or a cinnamon stick.
FAQ
Does the pumpkin add sugar? A trace of natural sugar from the pumpkin itself — the mixer adds 0g, and there’s no syrup, which is where the classic version hides its sugar.
Puree or pumpkin pie filling? Puree. Pie filling is pre-sweetened and pre-spiced — a different product.
Batch it for a party? One Stix + 2 tbsp puree per drink; shake in batches of two or three.
